The U.S Mint sold 129,000 one ounce American Gold Eagle Coins in November up 29.4% from 100,500 sold in October 2016 and up 60.2% from 80,500 sold in November 2015.
U.S. Mint sell 259,000 American Gold Eagle Coins in November
Total ounces of gold attributable to all American Gold Eagle Coins including 1/10, 1/4/ 1/2 and one once coins were 147,500 up 27.15% from 116,000 ounces sold in October 2016 and up 52% from 97,000 ounces sold in November 2015.
November Sales of One Ounce American Gold Eagles, Total Gold Eagle Coins and Ounces of Gold Sold Were Highest Monthly Totals in 2016.
Silver to Gold sales in November was 23.7:1, the lowest of the year.

U.S. Mint American Gold Eagle Sales
Sales of one ounce American Gold Eagle coins in November 2016 were up 9.5% compared to October 2016 sales of 100,500. and were the highest since July 2015.
Sales of one ounce American Gold Eagle coins in November were up 60.2% from last November’s sales of 80,500.

November sales of one ounce American Gold Eagles were the third largest November in the coin’s thirty year history.*

The U.S. Mint also sold 7,000 one half ounce, 18,000 quarter ounce and 105,000 one tenth ounce American Gold Eagle coins for a total of 147,500 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins sold in November. In October, the U.S Mint sold a total of 116,000 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins. In November 2015, the U.S. Mint sold 97,000 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins.
Year to date, the U.S. Mint has sold 794,500 one ounce American Gold Eagle coins and a total of 1,900,500 American Gold Eagle coins of all denominations for a total of 956,000 ounces of gold sold in the form of American Gold Eagles.
Gold sales led silver sales at the height of the financial crisis of 2008-2009. Gold was also more popular during the run up to Y2K.
Gold is the metal where investors go to first when there are signs of financial uncertainty.

Silver To Gold Sales Ratio in November
In 1998 the silver to gold sales ratio was just 2.8 to one when the U.S. Mint sold 1,518,000 one ounce American Gold Eagle coins and 4,320,000 American Silver Eagles!
In November the U.S. Mint sold 3,061,000 American Silver Eagles and 129,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 23.7 to 1
In October the U.S. Mint sold 3,825,000 American Silver Eagles and 100,500 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 38 to 1
In September the U.S. Mint sold 1,675,000 American Silver Eagles and 79,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 21.2 to 1
In August the U.S. Mint sold 1,280,000 American Silver Eagles and 50,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 25.6 to 1
In July the U.S. Mint sold 1,370,000 American Silver Eagles and 30,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 45.66 to 1
In June, the U.S. Mint sold 2,837,500 American Silver Eagles and 62,500 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 45.4 to 1
In May, the U.S. Mint sold 4,498,500 American Silver Eagles and 64,500 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 69.74 to 1.
In April, the U.S. Mint sold 4,072,000 American Silver Eagles and 93,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 43.78 to 1.
