Canadian Mint Silver Sales on Pace To Surpass 2014’s Record.
Sales of Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins and bars fell from a record 8.9 million ounces in the first quarter of 2015 to 6.8 million in the second quarter of 2015.
Sales of Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins fell from 179,000 ounces in the first quarter of 2015 to 164,000 ounces in the second quarter of 2015.
The Canadian Mint sold 41.5 times more silver than gold in the second quarter of 2015.
The Royal Canadian Mint recently released its second quarter 2015 report.
The report showed that Canadian Mint second quarter 2015 gold sales increased 1.2% from the second quarter of 2014 (164,000 vs. 161,000), while silver sales decreased 5.6% from the second quarter of 2014. (6.8 million vs. 7.2 million)
Silver Sales at the Royal Canadian Mint in the 2nd Quarter 2015
Sales of Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins and bars set a record in 2014 with 29,200,000 ounces sold, an increase of 1,000,000 ounces from 2013’s record sales.
Through the first half of 2015 the Royal Canadian Mint has sold 15,700,000 ounces of silver, on pace to surpass 2014’s record silver sales.
U.S. Mint Silver Sales January-June 2015
Sales of silver at the United States Mint accelerated towards the end of June and experienced record June, July and August sales. According to reports, the Canadian Mint also experienced a surge in demand for silver towards the end of the second quarter that continues into September.
Through the first half of 2015 U.S. Mint sales of American Silver Eagle coins were down 9.7% (21,786,000 vs. 24,138,500).
Through August 2015, sales of American Silver Eagles are 14.4% higher than through August 2014. (32,250,000 vs. 28,201,000)
Perth Mint Silver Sales January-June 2015
Sales of silver at the Perth Mint in the first half of 2015 were 18% lower than first half 2014 sales. (2,810,994 ounces vs. 3,428,336)
