The U.S Mint sold 79,000 one ounce American Gold Eagle Coins in September up 58% from 50,000 sold in August 2016 and down 20% from 98,500 sold in September 2015.
Total ounces of gold attributable to all American Gold Eagle Coins including 1/10, 1/4/ 1/2 and one once coins were 94,000 up 61% from 58,500 ounces sold in August 2016 and down 25% from 125,500 ounces sold in September 2015.

U.S. Mint American Gold Eagle Sales
Sales of one ounce American Gold Eagle coins were up sharply in September 2016 compared to August 2016 sales.
In September 2016, the U.S. Mint sold 79,000 one ounce American Gold Eagle Coins up 58% from 50,000 sold in August 2016. Sales of one ounce American Gold Eagle coins in September were down 20% from last September’s sales of 98,500.

The U.S. Mint also sold 5,000 one half ounce, 16,000 quarter ounce and 85,000 one tenth ounce American Gold Eagle coins for a total of 94,000 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins sold in September. In August, the U.S Mint sold a total of 58,500 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins. In September 2015, the U.S. Mint sold 125,500 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins.
Year to date, the U.S. Mint has sold 565,000 one ounce American Gold Eagle coins and a total of 1,437,000 American Gold Eagle coins of all denominations for a total of 692,000 ounces of gold sold in the form of American Gold Eagles.

In September the U.S. Mint sold 1,675,000 American Silver Eagles and 79,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 21.2 to 1
In August the U.S. Mint sold 1,280,000 American Silver Eagles and 50,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 25.6 to 1
In July the U.S. Mint sold 1,370,000 American Silver Eagles and 30,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 45.66 to 1
In June, the U.S. Mint sold 2,837,500 American Silver Eagles and 62,500 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 45.4 to 1
In May, the U.S. Mint sold 4,498,500 American Silver Eagles and 64,500 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 69.74 to 1.
In April, the U.S. Mint sold 4,072,000 American Silver Eagles and 93,000 one ounce American Gold Eagles for a silver to gold sales ratio of 43.78 to 1.
