Sales of one ounce American Gold Eagle coins were flat in June 2016 compared to June 2015 sales; 62,500 coins were sold in both months.
In June 2016, the U.S. Mint sold 62,500 one ounce American Gold Eagle Coins down 3.1% from 64,5000 sold in May 2016.

June 2016 sales of one ounce American Gold Eagle coins were the fifth best June sales in the coin’s history.

The U.S. Mint also sold 3,000 one half ounce, 10,000 quarter ounce and 70,000 one tenth ounce American Gold Eagle coins for a total of 73,500 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins sold in June. In May, the U.S Mint sold a total of 76,500 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins. In June 2015, the U.S. Mint sold 76,000 ounces of American Gold Eagle coins.
Year to date, the U.S. Mint has sold 406,000 one ounce American Gold Eagle coins and a total of 1,043,000 American Gold Eagle coins of all denominations for a total of 501,000 ounces of gold sold in the form of American Gold Eagles.
