Canadian Mint Sets Third Straight Annual Silver Sales Record.
Sells over 34 million ounces of Silver in 2015.

The Royal Canadian Mint released its annual report this week. The report showed that Canadian Mint 2015 silver sales increased 17.9% year over year from 2014. (34,300,000 ounces vs. 29,100,000 ounces).
The Canadian Mint also reported selling 953,000 ounces of gold in 2015. The Canadian Mint sold 35.99 times more silver than gold in 2015.
The Mint’s annual reported noted “Although activity in the silver and gold bullion markets have historically correlated, many investors have shifted to silver as the preferred investment over gold due to its affordability and the safety net provided by industrial demand“.
Silver Sales at the Royal Canadian Mint in 2015
Sales of Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins and bars set a record in 2014 with 29,100,000 ounces sold, an increase of 1,000,000 ounces from 2013’s record sales. Silver sales at the Canadian Mint of 34,100,000 in 2015 were 5,200,000 higher than 2014’s record sales.
The bulk of the Canadian Mint’s silver sales are in the form of one ounce Canadian Maple Leaf coins.
