Indian gold imports were 901 tons (28,976,823 ounces) in 2017 up 55% from 582 tons in 2016.

India imported 83.335 tons (2,548,814.74 ounces) of gold in December.

Indian gold imports in 2017 were more than four times greater than the record amount of gold (224 tons) the Central Bank of Russia’s added in 2017.
