Popular Perth Mint Silver Coins
While the Perth Mint silver coins featuring Koalas and Kangaroos are popular among collectors, their sales are dwarfed in comparision to sales of American Silver Eagles.
For example, the biggest sales month for Perth Mint silver coins during the past two years was 1,113,461 in April 2013 vs. 7,498,000 American Silver Eagles sold in January 2013.

Gold sales at the Perth Mint dropped in October to 55,350 ounces from 68,781 in September and down from 77,255 ounces in October 2013.

Indeed, the Perth Mint’s sales of 55,350 ounces of gold in October was about the same as the 57,500 American Gold Eagles the U.S. Mint sold in October (including fractional ounce American Gold Eagles and sales of American Gold Buffalo coins, the U.S. Mint sold 88,500 ounces of gold in October 2014).
